FAQ

What medium do you use to create your artworks?

I primarily use traditional mediums, mostly coloured pencil as well as graphite and ink on medium weight acid-free paper.

What is your artistic background?

I’m a self-taught artist and have been drawing since before I can remember. I was nicknamed “Crafty” in preschool, with art being something that has always stuck with me. I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in 2012, with minors in printmaking at QCA. I’m currently a full time Graphic Designer and creative artist by night!

How long does your illustrations take to create?

Anywhere from 2 weeks to 9 months depending on the size and level of detail of the particular piece. It also depends on other pieces and projects I have in the works at that time. For example some of the larger A3 pieces such as ‘Wildwood’ have taken 9 months to complete… lots of detail and layers of feathers in the owl.

What are your inspirations?

I’ve always been most inspired by nature and wildlife. If I’m ever feeling a little uninspired in the studio I tend to go for a walk and get back to nature. I make sure I stop and really soak up all the details; vines creeping up tree’s, mushrooms hidden under logs and all the little critters flying from one flower bud to the other.

Do you use reference images for your pieces?

Majority of my pieces have been created straight from my imagination. I sometimes use reference images for animals to make sure I get their features right, but concepts generally all comes from my mind.

Do you accept commission work?

Depending on what it is, I do sometimes take on big projects! However I generally don’t take on personal commissions sorry. (Please don’t ask me for portraits or pet portraits) it's nothing personal, just not my style. Why? I simply don’t have the time, being a full time graphic designer I’m flat our keeping up with my own work. Hope you understand!

What size are your pieces?

My illustrations vary in size from 4” x 6” inches to 12” x 16” inch pieces. However I generally always provide two variations in sizes from the original in fine art giclee prints.

What is a giclee print?

A giclee print is a fine art printing process creating high quality reproductions of the original artwork using long life pigment inks on acid-free paper. My prints are printed onto 210gsm archival cotton rag matt paper.

How will I receive my order?

Artworks are packaged in protective sleeves with thick card backing and posted in padded envelopes. I love to gift wrap!... so I always wrap pieces in recycled kraft paper with lace and twine trimmings. If it's a gift for someone special please let me know and I will package accordingly.

How are items shipped and how long will it take?

All items are shipped from Australia within 3 - 5 business days after payment has been received. I do my best to ship items straight away to avoid delays, however there is sometimes busy periods. Items are shipped through Australia Post using the most affordable method. This does not include insurance, however tracking is provided on large packages.

Do you provide framing?

Unfortunately no, as I ship my prints worldwide. This prevents risk of damage and allows you to choose your own style framing that best suits your home!

Can I return an item for a refund or exchange?

Please select items carefully as no refunds or exchanges are accepted for change of mind. Should an item arrive faulty or damaged please contact me directly and I will do my best to accomodate. Claims will need to be made within 7 days of receiving the item at point of delivery.
